Eric is a fifth generation farmer/rancher. Along with his father and business partner, he manages a feedlot, commercial cattle herd and grain farm. Eric is a strong ‘agvocate’ for the ag industry and understands the essential role primary production plays in a safe and nutritious global food supply. 

There is no such thing as “typical” days for Breanna. Every day brings new challenges to meet the incredible demand for veterinary services in her clinic’s region. With a mixed practice that serves both pet and commercial animal needs, there is an incredibly interesting variety to her days at the clinic.

Alan spends most of his days talking with cattle producers, either on the ranch or over the phone.. These conversations focus on co-ordinating the logistics for moving cattle from producers to buyers, establishing contracts and arranging financial analysis. 

Working as a veterinarian with a focus on large animals can be challenging but comes with its rewards. As a veterinarian you have the opportunity to build relationships with families as you work with them on a long-term basis.

Natacha is an Assistant Professor of Animal Science at a leading Canadian university. As one of five Northern Ecosystem Toxicology Initiative (NETI) researchers, Natasha uses her training as a toxicologist to address contaminant issues in animal health. 

Teddi’s main job is implementing the Agricultural Operations Act, which protects water resources by requiring intensive livestock operations to have adequate waste storage and waste management plans. Between the office and the field, she provides technical assistance to producers and regional engineers. 

Ryan’s work involves being at the market every day, working with producers to provide them the tools they need to make informative marketing decisions. It’s Ryan’s job to read the experienced buyers and professionally sell the product to ensure producers are getting a competitive price.
