Volunteer

Time to roll up your sleeves!

Do you share our passion for teaching kids about where their food comes from? Are you looking to share your time and talents with students across the country? Do you want a meaningful way to give back to your community?

AITC-C believes that all children deserve the opportunity to be connected to agriculture, and you can make it happen!

Volunteers are vital to ensuring the success of AITC-C’s work. There are many opportunities for you to become involved and share in our mission to enhance knowledge and appreciation of agriculture and food in Canada.

At the beginning of each presentation, I asked them to close their eyes and picture a farmer. Each of my three classrooms created the exact same picture - a man with a beard and a hat, wearing coveralls and holding a pitch fork.

At the end of my presentation, I asked them if they wanted me to change anything about that picture I had drawn, and I knew I'd done my job when they responded with 'a farmer could look like any one of us'.
