AITC-C is a charitable organization, operating across the country to deliver accurate, balanced, and current resources showcasing the agriculture and food industry. Our ten provincial member organizations are committed to a cross-Canadian effort to reach educators and students in every classroom in the country. This effort aims to provide programs and resources that bridge the knowledge gap about Canadian agriculture, create curiosity about agri-food careers, and help produce the next generation of informed consumers.
 
We are the national voice for agriculture education in Canada.

G3 Grow Beyond Scholarship Returns in 2021

G3 Grow Beyond Scholarship Returns in 2021

The G3 Grow Beyond Scholarship is back and looking to reward students across Canada who are a part of the next generation of innovative leaders.

G3, in partnership with Agriculture in the Classroom Canada (AITC-C), will award six scholarships of $4,000 each to students from across Canada* beginning their post-secondary education, in any discipline. To apply, students must establish and explain their vision for the future of agriculture in Canada in a two-to-four-minute video essay. Students must also identify how their studies will help achieve their vision for the future of Agriculture. In addition to the scholarship, the winners’ school will also receive $1000.

Agriculture in the Classroom Canada Establishes a Board Advisory Committee

AITC-C Welcomes Seven Inaugural Appointees

Agriculture in the Classroom Canada (AITC-C), along with its ten provincial member organizations, has established a Board Advisory Committee (BAC) to offer insight and expertise as AITC-C continues to strive towards its strategic goals

The seven appointees were chosen by the AITC Board Nominations Committee and will serve a two-year term. The following individuals have been appointed to the BAC: Agassou Jones (NS), Becky Parker (BC), Kelly Green (MB), Lindsey Verhaeghe (AB), Nadine Sisk (ON), Teresa Vallotton (MB) and Trish Jordan (MB). As a volunteer group, the BAC will meet at least twice a year.

Six students awarded first-ever G3 Grow Beyond Scholarship

G3, in partnership with Agriculture in the Classroom Canada (AITC-C), is excited to announce the first recipients of the G3 Grow Beyond Scholarship.

Six students are each being awarded a $4000 scholarship, with a further $1000 awarded to each of their high schools.

G3 and AITC-C offered the scholarship for the first time in 2020 to students embarking on a post secondary education. As part of their applications, students were asked to submit a video essay describing how they would bring innovation to agriculture.

Agriculture in the Classroom Reaches Over 2 Million Students in 2019 and Elects New Executive Officers

Agriculture in the Classroom Canada (AITC-C) has announced its four newly elected Board Executive Officers at its 6th Annual General Meeting held virtually this week. AITC-C represents ten provincial member organizations dedicated to delivering agriculture education to students and teachers. These organizations also offer a representative who sits on AITC-C’s Board of Directors.

At the Annual General Meeting AITC-C Executive Director, Johanne Ross, released AITC-C's 2019/2020 Impact Report that boasted reaching a phenomenal 2,102,844 students from coast-to-coast.

Québec's École-O-Champ Named as Newest AITC-C Member

AITC-C welcomes École-O-Champ as the newest provincial member with President Mathieu Rouleau joining AITC-C as Director.

AITC-C represents ten committed provincial member organizations that deliver agriculture education to classrooms in their home provinces.  The addition of École-O-Champ, a Québec-based nonprofit organization committed to the education and promotion of agricultural, food, and environmental sciences in schools, farms, and municipalities across Québec, cements AITC-C's strong presence from coast-to-coast in all ten provinces.
