At the heart of McCain’s business is farming. But against a backdrop of an ever-growing population, climate change, soil degradation, biodiversity loss and food waste, the future of the global food system is at risk. Reimagining a more sustainable way to grow a potato is a key element on McCain Foods’ journey to more planet-friendly food. This means growing food responsibly, reducing their carbon footprint, and supporting communities where they operate, to ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.
Together with Agriculture in the Classroom Canada (AITC-C), McCain Foods is proud to support the I Am Agriculture campaign, including the Great Canadian Farm Tours (GCFT) and new, innovative initiatives and programming within the thinkAG platform, both of which help increase opportunities for young people interested in pursuing a career in the agri and agri-food sector. Together, AITC-C and McCain Foods are working together to help students better perceive the agriculture and food sector as a viable, desirable and exciting place to have a future career, while contributing positively to the future of our food.
