Program Assistant

Agriculture in the Classroom Canada (AITC-C) is a Canadian charitable organization that creates meaningful connections to agriculture and food for students and educators. Ten provincial organizations are represented through membership in AITC-C and collectively, they deliver on national, curriculum-linked agriculture education initiatives for all grade levels. Our vision is “Agriculture in every classroom, inspiring every student.”

Program Assistant
This role is a unique and exciting 6-month, full-time term contract opportunity for a highly motivated and creative professional. This individual will provide support to our Education Specialist and thinkAG Manager to assist in and support the development and delivery of AITC-C's resources, programs and initiatives. Reporting to the Operations Manager, your primary skill set should include:

o Ability to effectively manage time and multiple projects, and prioritize work in consultation with a team in a dynamic, fast paced environment,
o Knowledgeable in computer programs, including: Microsoft Office 365, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, and Survey Monkey,
o Excellent interpersonal communication skills including: active listening, written and verbal,
o Highly organized, task-oriented, and independent with the ability to adapt quickly to diverse responsibilities,
o Strong collaborator and team player keen to share ideas and perspectives.

Competencies and Qualifications Required:

o A post-secondary degree in Education and/or experience as a Program Assistant in an education or non-profit environment,
o Bilingual: English and French considered a strong asset,
o Advanced writing and editing skills,
o Excellent research and critical thinking abilities,
o Experience working with Curriculum Frameworks,
o Capable of managing, organizing and coordinating multiple tasks, and;
o A passion for and basic knowledge of agriculture and food.

Location: TBD, home office/virtually based.
Salary and benefits: commensurate with experience, qualifications and ability.
